PACK'S TAVERN

An enormous taproom with a view of Asheville's handsome City Hall, Pack's Tavern hearkens back to the town's yesteryear, with photographs of old Asheville hanging on the wood-paneled and exposed-brick walls, and a Prohibition-era booze-running passage snaking out from beneath the place. Plenty of local North Carolina beers are on tap, including half a dozen brewed right in town. (11/2010)
