  • Believe it Or Not! Odditorium

    This wacky attraction pays tribute, in its own way, to the oddities that once graced the resort’s famed boardwalk. The Odditorium, which looks like it is about to be destroyed by a giant wrecking ball, offers visitors the chance to witness extreme weirdness, such as a lock of George Washington’s hair and a 27-room miniature wooden castle.   • Chicago

    Each Memorial Day weekend, the sugary scents of funnel cake, fresh fudge and saltwater taffy Boardwalk, as do the big-ticket casino acts. Chicago, the brass-heavy rock band that has been going at it for more than four decades, appears this month at Caesars. You’ll hear “25 or 6 to 4,” “Saturday in the Park,” “Beginnings” and other classic hits. May 29-30. (05/2011)

  • Civil Rights Garden

    Located outside the beautifully restored Carnegie Library Center (completed in 1904), this sculpture garden honors the leaders and voices of the Civil Rights movement. The monument is free and open daily from 9am to 5pm. (03/2011)

  • The Ritz

    One of the few grand Boardwalk hotel buildings still standing from the Prohibition era, this is where Enoch “Nucky” Johnson—who inspired Nucky Thompson in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire—lived (on the entire ninth floor), held meetings and partied. Tours available by appointment. (03/2011)

  • Emlen Physick Estate Tour

    One of the jewels of Victorian town Cape May (44 miles south of AC), this Victorian houseturned- museum was built in 1879. The estate also houses Carriage House Gallery and Mid- Atlantic Center for the Arts. (02/2011)

  • BORGATA COMEDY CLUB

    Founded by the late Brooklyn-bred actor Ray Garvey in 2003, this club is one of the city’s top laugh lounges. When the Borgata’s intimate 940-seat Music Box isn’t booked with a headliner, the room offers three comics a night for $20, with each one performing an unfi ltered half-hour set. Shows start at 9pm.
