  • Sally Bassett Monument

    Sally Bassett’s story of proud resistance against her owners is legendary in Bermuda. Allegedly, the elderly Bassett poisoned her owners and was found guilty and burned at the stake. This majestic statue by local artist Carlos Dowling stands on the lawn of the Cabinet Office and elegantly conveys the murderous tale. (9/2011)
