  • Portofino

A restaurant so cozy you’ll feel like you’re in your Italian grandmother’s living room. True to the stereotype, this nonna really knows how to cook as the dishes here undeniably taste like a delicious home cooked meal. The dish names will be familiar, but the incredible flavors all new. Ask for Simone, the ever-present manager, for some great tips. $$$ (09/2011)

  • Frog & Onion

If you think you like Bermuda’s British flavor, then try putting it in your food. In true English pub fashion, find fish and chips, bangers and mash and locally made Dockyard Brewing Co. beer served in full English pint glasses (that’s 20 oz.). There’s live music every day, so be sure to check the calendar. $$ (07/2011)

  • Island Cuisine

Head here on Sundays, when locals pack the place for its flavorful food, fast service and the diner-like atmosphere. If you're there for breakfast, get the traditional Bermuda meal of codfish and potatoes. If not, the pan-fried wahoo is definitely worth a try. $ (05/2011)

  • Latin

This slick café, trendy rum bar and chic open-air lounge dazzle many, but the real showstopper is the guacamole. A server in a crisp red shirt will pound two avocadoes into a paste so fantastic you'll want to lick the bowl. $$$ (04/2011)
