Sesquicentennial Tree Planting & Civil War Commemoration

Ohio leaders—accompanied by Gen. Grant and President Lincoln re-enactors—will plant a tree for the 150th anniversary of the Ohio Statehouse. To conclude the event, Battery A will fire the Ohio Statehouse cannon (don’t worry—it’ll be blanks) to mark the outbreak of the Civil War, which began on this day in 1861. April 12.(04/2011)
