MISSISSIPPI SURGE HOCKEY
Is a hockey hotbed in the heart of the Gulf Coast hard to believe? Well, believe it. The Surge, part of the Southern Professional Hockey League, advanced to last season’s President’s Cup finals. Hurricane Katrina forced McElroy’s to relocate from Biloxi, but the view and menu are still intact, and a sight to behold. Fried crab claws and blackened snapper are fine choices, though more adventurous diners might dare to order mullet filets—aka “Biloxi bacon.” $$$ (2/2011)
