LEXINGTON GO... DAY-TRIPPING
FORT BOONESBOROUGH
In 1775, Daniel Boone established a fort near the banks of the Kentucky River to protect settlers on the territory’s bloody frontier. Today, visitors can see life as it was then, courtesy of costumed interpreters acting as blacksmiths, pioneers and colonial militiamen. (05/2010)
