Ottertoberfest

Here, October is all about our friend the otter, and the zoo celebrates the semi-aquatic mammal for over two weeks at this annual festival started in 1998. There are special menus, music, drinks and “otterly” fun activities including crafts and an obstacle course in praise of the furry folks. The event (and no doubt scores of bad puns) is free, as is the zoo itself. Oct. 1-2, 8-9, 15-19. (09/2011)
