CHRIST CHURCH

Designed by James Wren, this colonial-style church was completed in 1773. George Washington and Robert E. Lee were regular worshippers here, and visitors have included FDR and Winston Churchill. The cemetery includes a memorial marking the mass grave of 34 Confederate prisoners of war. (04/2010)
