The very best in Atlanta.
WORDS BY TONY WARE
Piebar $$
2160 Monroe Dr, Midtown. 404-815-1605
FUNKY CASUAL
From the dynamos behind One. Midtown Kitchen and Two. Urban Licks comes Piebar—casual event dining within the refurbished, retro-futuristic 1962 Trust Company Bank building. The gourmet pizza and anitpasti parlor has an exhibition kitchen-inthe-round as well as theatrically lit outdoor dining. Piebar is a feast for the eyes as well as the belly— kind of Cirque du Soleil meets salami. Trailblazing chef Richard Blais helped conceive aspects of the Mediterranean-inspired menu, so expect an eccentric, invigorating foodie twang that extends to standout desserts such as olive oil and black pepper gelati, and a Ferrero Rocher frozen piebar. A wine list with only two price points complements well.
