GONE TO THE DOGS

Canine concierges will greet you with wagging tails.

Red Tree: Gary Godbey High-end spas and restaurants are expected luxury hotel amenities. A dog, not so much-until recently. At The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch (www.ritz-carlton.com), in Avon, CO (100 miles from Denver), you can reserve time with Bachelor, who's a big hit on hikes or snowshoe treks. Another Lab who's happy to show guests around is Catie Copley at Boston's Fairmont Copley Plaza (www.fairmont.com/copleyplaza). And Luke the Lab at San Antonio's The Fairmount (www.thefairmounthotel-sanantonio.com) is available for sleepovers. These pups sure are popular: John Garth, manager at The Ritz, says, "We've had as many as 400 requests from families that actually want to take Bachelor home."
