Greener Pastures

A nature center in Georgia has become even more in tune with its surrounding environment.

Opening June 20 in Roswell, GA (23 miles from downtown Atlanta), the new Discovery Center at the Chattahoochee Nature Center (www.chatt.naturecenter.org) is LEED certified, meaning it meets high standards in eco-friendly construction. Little natural area was disturbed to create this comprehensive center, which has four distinct features, including an interactive exhibit of the area's native animals, and a gallery that highlights ways to experience and conserve the Chattahoochee River. Make sure to stop by before you "shoot the hooch" in a canoe, kayak or raft.
