How to Do Yoga on an Airplane

It's National Yoga Month, and - with a new instructional DVD, Yoga on the Edge, and an appearance at the Yoga Health Festival in LA (Sept. 20) - über-flexible yogi Sara Ivanhoe will be spending lots of time on airplanes. Here are her tips for staying limber without leaving your seat.

1 Start by timing your breath with your movement. Bring arms up over your head and stretch as you breathe in.

2
Bring arms down (without hitting the guy next to you) and breathe out. Repeat 1 and 2 until you feel relaxed.

3
Do the eagle pose by making an "L" shape with your right arm and wrapping the left around until palms touch. Repeat on left.

4
Stretch your spine by grabbing the armrest with both hands and twisting to the right. Repeat on other side.
