Have Dreams, Will Travel

I DREAM OF DISNEY

BY JONATHAN AND LAUNI WALKER

Orlando is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, but our family's trip held special meaning for us: It was to see our 5-year-old son Eli's wish to visit Walt Disney World Resort come true.

Eli was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 3, and he's undergone chemotherapy treatment for the past two years. He also developed a serious nerve disorder last fall, but we received much brighter news that same week from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Eli's wish was being granted.

Eli had a blast, enjoying the rides as many times as he wanted. He rode his favorite rollercoaster 11 times!

He also ate ice cream every day and met many of his favorite characters, giving him great memories.

It was a wonderful trip not only for Eli, but also for our family. It was sunshine in these dark, rainy clouds of cancer.
