I love NYE
STANDING AROUND FOR EIGHT HOURS TO WATCH A BALL DROP IS WORTH EVERY MINUTE.
10am Wake up. It's New Year's Eve and you're in NYC!
Noon Stop into Virgil's (212-921- 9494) for a hearty BBQ lunch-you won't be able to leave your viewing spot for food once you're in.
2pm Put on long underwear, thick socks, boots, gloves, a coat and a hat. Leave your second pair of gloves; it can't possibly be that cold.
4pm Score a prime viewing spot on Broadway and 43rd Street.
5:15pm You get hungry.
5:30pm Luckily, you remembered to pack a sandwich.
6pm The ball is lit and raised to the top of 1 Times Square, and the TV networks start hosting concerts.
10pm It's that cold.
11:57pm Collect your hat and noisemaker. It's almost time!
Midnight Happy New Year! Those frozen fingers were more than worth it. Time to make reservations for 2011.
