TIPS
DEFY DRY-OUT. “Take cool showers, turn on humidifiers and avoid using any products that contain irritants.”
SLOUGH IT OFF. Banish rough, flaky skin by exfoliating regularly. “Try over-the-counter, low-concentration alpha hydroxy acids or a skin-cleansing brush. Both help rejuvenate cells.”
CLEANSE WITH CARE. Your regular soap or liquid cleanser can dry out skin when temperatures dive. “Switch to a gentle cleanser during winter months.”
MAXIMIZE MOISTURE. Dry air and cold winds strip skin of its natural moisture barrier. “Keep your skin hydrated at all times and look for products that contain moisturizing lactic acid, resveratrol and glycerin.”
PRESERVE AND PROTECT. “It’s still important to apply sunscreen even when it’s not summertime. And you should also protect against free radical damage by using products enhanced with antioxidants.”
